Let’s start with some background; where did you grow up?
I grew up one hour north of New York City, a small town called Highland Mills NY, Orange County NY… about 5000 people in our town, maybe less.
Very rural. We had one traffic light in town; it was in front of the firehouse, and it blinked. Our town was so small my mom was the librarian. And I mean she was the only librarian. One librarian in a 600 hundred square foot library. My dad was the barber, and I used to hang out at the gas station across from the barber shop. That’s how small town this was.
Yeah, that’s pretty small. You went to school there?
I did, all the way through high school. I was born in New York City, and my parents moved us out of the city (I have four younger sisters) before I started kindergarten, and I went to kindergarten through high school in the same small town.
Did you go to college after that?
I was actually too bored in school. So no I didn’t have the opportunity to go to college until I got older, and I realized how much I needed it.
Don’t we all? So, tell me a little bit about your family. Are you married?
Yes, I’m married. Deborah and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary on August 5th and we each have two grown boys and they range in age from 31 to 36. We also have seven grandchildren.
