Led by pastors Jabin and Shanen Chavez, City Light church exists so that people know God, find freedom, discover their purpose and then make a difference in their world.
Statistics from the Center for Disease Control and the Alan Guttmacher Institute indicate that 93% of all abortions occur because of social or economic reasons and that 50% of women who have had an abortion in the past are more likely to have another. Since 1985, we have personally met with some of these women, and we have found that the majority of them would not choose abortion if they simply had someone to assist them in their circumstance.
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission has been around since 1970, starting out in a small storefront building that included the chapel, kitchen and a shelter that could only hold a few men. Since then, the Mission has grown to several buildings and a campus that fills nearly two city blocks, with the ability to feed, shelter and serve hundreds of men, women and children.
Established in 1996, The Original 1-800-Charity Cars, www.800CharityCars.org (Charity Cars, Inc. DBA: 1-800-Charity Cars, Free Charity Cars), is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization, and the first charity of its kind in the nation. With its stated mission “To engage in activities that will uplift humanity”, the organization’s primary focus is to provide free donated vehicles to assist struggling families in their transition from dependency to self-sufficiency.
Serving Clark County since 1977, Safe Nest is Nevada’s largest and most comprehensive charity devoted solely to domestic violence issues. Safe Nest’s programs are concentrated in four areas of service: advocacy, counseling, prevention and shelter.
JOY PROM Las Vegas is a full-scale, prom for teenagers and adult individuals with cognitive and physical impairments, where every guest is celebrated and accepted. The invited guests are hosted complimentary. The experience recognizes the individual guest first and then their disability, while providing a positive environment free of judgment or negativity.
The mission of Family Promise of Las Vegas is to offer homeless families the opportunity to achieve housing stability by providing short-term shelter, meals, case management and hospitality. Family Promise is a cooperative effort that addresses the needs of homeless families by utilizing resources within local congregations and the community. Families in our program receive a full complement of resources and training as they work towards their independence and self-sufficiency.
Cell Phones for Soldiers is a nonprofit which provides ways for active military members and veterans alike to communicate cost-free, as well as providing emergency funding to aid veterans transitioning back to everyday life.
Hoving Home is dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives after suffering from alcohol or drug addiction. Starting in New York in 1967, the Hoving Home has expanded and now has campuses in California, Las Vegas, and New Jersey as well.
The Las Vegas Men’s Center Teen Challenge helps men to recover from addiction and abuse by working to build healthy relationships with God, providing mentoring, worship, food, and discussion for people of any age. The center functions as a safe space to support the growth of healthy mentalities, self-control, and inner peace.
